I am realizing that there is no question about what we imagine coming to pass or not. What we need is a sanctification of our desires. Our imaginations and dominant thoughts will come to pass whether they are evil or good. We will reap the harvest of what we imagine. What we need is not necessarily how to bring to pass what we imagine but how to sanctify our imaginations and desires so that rather than destroy us and our fellow human beings, their fruits enrich and uplift us all.
After all, in the book of Genesis in the Bible, God said concerning those who were trying to build the tower of Babel, which He considered evil, “Nothing will be restrained from them which they have imagined to do.”
Diana Nyad also said “If you want to touch the other shore badly enough, baring an impossible situation, you will. If your desire is diluted for any reason, you will never make it.”
When I see how easy it is for my imagination to come to pass and how most of the havoc we see in society today are the results of human imagination and desires of yesterday, I pray for a sanctification of my imagination, as in the words of the Psalmist, “Search me O God and know my heart, try me and know my thoughts; and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” Amen.
