Beginning of the end of Wall Street

I think the Occupy Wall Street movement will dent Wall Street. But some will say it is not the most effective of ways, and I agree. Ineffective or pedestrian as it is, as long as “the people are one and they have one language,” Wall Street will be dented. When any group of people act in unison towards a specific objective, their desire will not be restrained from them. This is the beginning of the end of Wall Street as we know it, unless the determination of the protesters wanes.

Having said this, I do not believe the movement would have been necessary if there was more Christ on this planet and less religion. He went about doing good and delivering the oppressed. Instead of being true followers of Him as a supernatural race of beings whose primary role includes delivering the oppressed in society, Christians have conformed to the oppression and decadence in society. How can we have any societal relevance when our identification with Christ starts and ends within the walls of church buildings? We claim Christ is alive and we live as though He is a fable.

In the absence of saviors on Mount Zion, the oppressed must attempt to deliver themselves and they will achieve their desire, if they faint not. But if the intended solution regardless of how promising it seems, originates from the same dead system that produced Wall Street, it is still death and can only be death because death cannot produce life. A deeply entrenched system like that which produced Wall Street will fall apart if it works against itself and that is not about to happen without external intervention.

According to Albert Einstein, the significant problems we face cannot be solved at the level of thinking that created them. No problem can be solved by a solution originating from the system that caused the problem. Every system maintains equilibrium unless an external force acts on it, according to Newton’s law of inertia. To solve any problem, we need access to an intelligence that stands outside the system and is more powerful than it. This is why I think Occupy Wall Street is an unwitting, albeit sincere call for the likes of Christ. They are here already, they just need to wake up to their real identity. They think they are powerless but their ignorance is the only thing sustaining the powers that be. Perhaps the Occupy movement is one of the triggers that will awaken them.

Just a clone

Far from being an evolutionary accident, in its full glory, man is the closest thing to God in existence, I believe. To the extreme annoyance of the religious elite, Jesus said, “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.” They had valid reasons to be terribly upset since they knew He was a man and considering themselves “custodians” of God, they thought they had a duty to keep God elevated and distant. To be honest, it is humanly hard for me to think that I could even be potentially close in nature and character to God but since I did not make myself but only came to find myself here, complete with everything needed for life and god-likeness, I thought it prudent to accept the Word of the One who created me and knew me before I existed.

What is man? According to scriptures, this is the only being made a little lower than God. Based on the following recorded in the Psalms, maybe there is more to God than I know and therefore more to me than meets the eye?

“When I view and consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have ordained and established; what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of [earthborn] man that You care for him? Yet You have made him but a little lower than God [or heavenly beings], and You have crowned him with glory and honour. You made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet…”

Man is not only the closest thing to God in existence, man is all God thinks and cares about. When man fell, why else would God bear the burden of redemption Himself by becoming a man and be slain on a cross? He did it for His clone but not just His clone, His heartbeat. It seems we were designed to exist in the same class of being as God.

God created man to have dominion over His works. That would include everything from our bodies to the heavenly bodies and the planets including this one. Haaaa! In the Old Testament, Joshua proved it by ordering the Sun and the moon to stand still and they promptly obeyed. Why not? A clone of God has spoken, so be it! We now go to the moon and send spaceships to Mars but the dominion of God’s clones, I believe covers all the planets.

In their full glory, instead of trying to find out if life exists on Mars, God’s clones can make life be, on Mars. Not an entirely strange thing since God did the same when this earth was a wasteland. This is a wild thought, albeit a real one: could God’s clones advance to the point of converting our neighbouring planet from a wasteland to a garden of Eden the way God did in the beginning? It would of course have all the resources a planet needs. Then, there will be interplanetary flights, with people choosing to go vacation or live on Mars.

In their full glory, human beings look and act like God, because they are really God’s clones, made of God, designed to copy God and that indicates both our potential and our purpose.
