I found this statement on Fela Durotoye’s website a few days ago and it has stayed with me because I think it is true and profound.
It frames a burning question that arose in me, after Gbenga, my younger brother’s departure ten years ago. The answer to the question is what I am living for. I think life takes on new meaning when death is in the mix. And, for all of us, death is in the mix.
“You were not sent to live in this world, you were sent to die, and the question is what are you dying for?”
